I often look for voice clips here on freesound, and there's just some stuff that isn't here. I know i'm not the only one, either, so i post mine as well so others may use them. Interestingly, i've gotten one person who took the time to uh. . . Tell me how they. . . Disapproved of my voice clips, so i just wanted to say that if you wanna use them, do, if not, don't, that's why they are there. The exciting thing about recording and cataloging natural sounds is how you get nice, unexpected surprises. I was up early recently one spring day and did not have any real plans to record, until i stepped outside with my coffee to see what the weather was like and was nicely surprised with the light, steady spring rain that was falling in my yard; during the whole time this energetic carolina wren kept on singing through the rain. I rain, got my recorder and recorded a full hour of this peaceful pattering. You hear the drops hitting the concrete patio, the shingled overhang and a plastic chair. Zoom h4n recorder using the stereo built-in mics.

I use a voltage controlled lfo (vclfo) for this experiment. When i send a trigger to the lfo it resets and start over again. In this example i'm using a sinus wave output. I send the output, the sinus wave, to1 - a sample and hold (s/h) module2 - a quantizer3 - straight to vco. The s/h and the quantizer are triggered at the same time. Even an envelope a generated with the same trigger. All three sounds are controlled by this envelope. First out we have s/h (left)second straight to vco (right)third the quantized (center). As usual its fun to take a real close look at the wave!.

All of these snoring audio clips on my profile are real recordings of my husband’s snoring!. This one is very loud snoring from the get-go! could be a great sound to use for chewwie! or in a horror film, whichever one comes first. This is the first instalment, recorded from my ipad to play it back to my husband and decided to make use of the audio. You don’t have to credit me, but i will restrict my sounds if people start to take the biscuit and try and sell them on. I want to help other creators. Please do comment your thoughts though!.

In cabin. Train wheels grinding the rails, odd wind howling makes a melody. Water bottles stored under the cabin seats make soft sounds. Recorded with tascam dr-40. I've only used the internet to facilitate human contacts. Being with actual people in actual places has always been the goal. I like it when, in the presence of real people, we don't speak for a while. We just do something that we've agreed to do together in silence. There is an agreement and we don't have to think about who we are, how we can be who we are or what it all means. Doing becomes meaning.

A man and a woman having sex with lots of moans and squeaky bed noises. About: i told a couple that i'm friends with about freesound and they got real excited (pun intended). I gave them my handy recorder h2 and they did their thing. I edited the recording a bit in audacity. They are cool with this recording being put on freesound. Org and also that it's cc0 as long as it's anonymous. Have fun and if you get the chance to share intimate sounds yourself: don't be shy and just do it (but ask first)!.

Modular synth patch where two envelopes are involved in a chase. There could have been a rhythm, but i let chaos disturb theharmony. The triangle wave sounds are "distorted" in a wave rectifier. Kind of metallic sound? interesting. The kind of patch only an owner to a modular synth findany interest in. Maybe a little more interesting then theprevious sound. . . This has an ambient feel. Why?answer: different wave forms, changed envelopes and reverb. A lot of reverb. Do you find any use for some part of this sound let me know!the "ground/root pith" is 122hz. . . Almost a b. . . But not really. I tune my oscillators without caring about "real" tones. The quantizer makes the steps between tones.

The sound is not as clean as in the virtual one. To some extent i blame my method of recording. . . Different oscillators sound different. Here i use a self oscillating filter. That produces a clean sinus wave. The cleanest sinus in my rack. But i guess the real thing is not perfect and that is what you are hearing? in neither of the patches i use a quantizer. . . (that's art :-)and, i almost forgot, i use a cheap analog delay pedal. Noisy. . .

. A very mellow and ambient music loop. Completely seamless. It has a horrid start because of the whole seamless loop stuff, please read further down. . . The piano piece is one of orangefreesounds' many beautiful looping piano melodies. I added some effects and an ambient mellotron using the free, but stunning redtron se vst instrument, which uses recorded samples of a real mellotron. Highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic mellotron sound. . . Please excuse the rough start, the reason why it sounds so weird is because it is a prefect loop, that means that everything, including all the effects, loops perfectly. What you hear in the very start is the reverb and delay effects from the end carrying over to the start. It will sound completely seamless once looped!. . It might not sound good as a preview, so i recommend to download and listen to it on your own device, as the website has a bad habit of compressing and adding a bunch of annoying squeaking sounds to the audio. .

A gunshot sound effect recorded for a high school production of the musical heathers. It was recorded on a zoom h1 and was made by a theatrical cap gun. I recorded it at a distance of about 5 feet and then again at a distance of about 40 feet from the audience and allowed the sound to reverberate both times. Then i duplicated both and mixed in both original sounds on top of each other, plus each sound pitched down 1 octave and the 40-feet away recording at 2 octaves down, plus the closer recording pitched one octave up. We then added and adjusted reverb in audacity and adjusted the sync of all the clips to be aligned, and adjusted the mix to make it sound as real as possible.

What if we could hear sounds from another planet ?. In this imaginary place, people can visit zoos under water. Here is the sound of a yhtem, recorded by a visitor from inside his personal submarine. The recording device was found by a member of the zoo staff, as it was floating over the water. It gave no more informations about what happened to the visitor, except that according to several monster's specialists, the yhtem « sounded hungry ». In the real world, this sound was created using the sound of a very brief scream. At the background was a noisy street, and some cars were passing by. I used two different screams and mixed them, before decreasing speed and tempo in audacity. -. Xson « cannelé ». Le son « d'arrière plan » est étouffé, plutôt doux, mais il y a des « accents » rugueux, acides, lors du grognement. L'attaque est graduelle. On distingue quelques notes, différentes hauteurs. Okay, about this small bibliothek there is a story to tell. Maybe a year ago my mother phoned me and asked if i could give her a hand because the door to her kitchen was squeaking. After work i went to her, went down to the cellar, took the can with the lubricating grease, went upstairs and made my mother happy. Then i putted the grease back and went upstairs. Whe sat down, drank a cup of coffee. Then i had to go to the toilet andnoticed that the toilet door was squeaking too. So i went down to the cellar again and took once again the grease. Now i thought, before i make the stairs again, i'll show if any other thing in my mothers house is squeaking. It was terrible! i swear, never in my entire life i've been in a house where so many different things were squeaking so impassionated. First off all i went back to my car and took my cheap dictaphone i use for work. And before i putted grease on those squeaking things i recorded them. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. So this are really historic sounds! none of them exist anymore in the real world!. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. But. . . When i heard through them later i was disappointed of the bad sound quality, cutting out higher ond lower frenquencies of the rich spectrum of those "neeeeiiiks" and "uiihggs". During winter holidays i processed them first with the audacity noise reduction - then with other tools. The result gives an unreal impression of the original sounding, they have now some "synthetic" touch - but makes them probably usable for funny films or comic-likeeffects. All the sounds in my "big squeek pack" where recorded in one afternoon and all in my mothers house. "tension-sounds" for example are nothing else than a junker (tin can? - sorry, my english) moved from one side of a wooden shelf to another, meanwhile my dictoaphone was laying in the junker. I'm attempting to create a controllable thunderstorm for a film, and this is my first legitimate attempt. This recording consists of 4 samples of rain, and another 3 samples of rain+thunder that i recorded one afternoon. Equipment used was the inbuilt mics on a roland r-26, and a sennheiser me66 into a sound devices 702. The clips were recorded at 96khz/24-bit, and they were processed at 48khz/24-bit. For processing, i put the samples into kyma, and crossfaded for texture. The howling wind sound is an analog-style low pass filter's frequency, level, and resonance being controlled by a wacom intuos4 pen/tablet. The rain slowly swells, which was done by changing parameters of a granular reverb. The thunder was also controlled by the wacom tablet, with x, y, and z (pressure) dimensions mapped to making the thunder swell in level, density, and texture. This could have been output in surround, but i don't have that many monitors ;). This style of "rain-synthesis" can also go on indefinitely. Please let me know what you think of the quality of this track; eg, if it sounds real, if the wind sounds ridiculous, too much thunder, etc. Use this sound (wherever) if you want to, or let me know if you'd like an mp3 of this, or for it to last longer. Ok, i don't know how many of you might be interested in this, but i figure there's no harm in posting it. I'm working on some original songs. Laptop-based, electronic songs, with many orchestral parts, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Presonus studio one has some very nice vst string instruments, and i have some really great ones for kontakt. But they all are missing one thing, and i couldn't find the (admittedly esoteric) sound that i'm looking for anywhere on the internet. Being a viola player myself, i recorded myself playing these very particular incidental sounds. Let me explain-. There's this 'grabby' sound that a well-rosined bow makes just is it is first being drawn across the string. Listen carefully to any of the pros and you'll hear it. In your laptop sequences, if used subtly, right at the point where the first note of a phrase is initiated, this sound can give the string part a marked sense of realism*. This, combined with vibrato, reverb and a nice warm/tube/tape saturation setting, nobody will be able to tell the difference between your vst and the real thing. About the audio-i tried to keep them as pitchless as possible, thus not limiting their utility. Streets visited include rue des saules, rue norvins, rue du mont cenis, rue du chevalier de la barre, rue du cardinal guibert, rue azais, rue saint eleuthere, in that order. It announces the condition of the traffic lights for pedestrians who are blind or with impaired vision. The annunciation is turned on by pressing a button on the traffic light pole. When the crosswalk sign is red (do not cross), the recorded annunciation is always "rouge piéton" ("red light, pedestrian"), followed by the name of the street that the crosswalk crosses (in this case "rue d'antin," the quiet side street where i recorded this). This repeats over and over until the crosswalk changes to green, at which point there is a two-second trill tone followed by a repeating bell tone. The bell tone is one bell, followed by two bells, repeated four times, followed by a very brief pause, and then the sequence is repeated again. This continues until the crosswalk changes back to red, at which point the "rouge piéton" message resumes. The annunciation continues for at least one cycle of the traffic lights and then stops, unless the button is pressed again. The audio quality of the annunciation is very poor even in real life (it sounds like a wax cylinder recording or something), and can be difficult to understand.
